Little Snuggle Bunny

Spend New Year's Eve oohing and ahhing over these luscious baby blankets made by Little Snuggle Bunny. Made by Shelly, a stay-at-home mom to her own little snuggle bunny, her expertise with a sewing machine is clearly evident. She also has a great eye for design coordinating lovely fabrics that were meant to be together. This would make a great gift for all those baby showers coming up this year. There are many blankets in store besides the 3 I chose so make sure you stop by her shop and check out all the choices.

Turtle Papers

Everyone has word associations when they think of Seattle: rain and Starbucks to name a few. I have a new word to add to your list: Turtle Papers. Turtle Papers features stationery, invites, calendars and other paper goodies designed with animals, swirls and flourishes. There are also baby items for purchase too. Everything is so pretty. I picked 3 items and let me tell you, it was hard. Seeing that 2009 is literally tomorrow, I've featured a 2009 calendar too.

Help Me Help a Friend

A dear friend recently lost her newborn baby, and I will be donating the funds from my next sale to her memorial fund at Boston Children's Hospital. I just wanted to get the word out to anyone who wanted to help out for this cause. I've already sent along some of my own money towards the fund. I figured by opening up the opportunity at my shop, someone can be charitable and get one of my items at the same time. This would truly be a help to the family and even if you just buy a card, anything helps.

Thanks.

Happy Holidays!

Here's wishing all my readers a happy, healthy, safe holiday season. I'm out of state for the holiday so I decided to skip today seeing as many would be away from Etsy anyway. I want my featured sellers to have as much exposure as possible and I need a break now and then. ;) Friday Featured Seller comes back tomorrow and next week continues as usual!

Crafterall

I suppose it is fitting on Christmas Eve to keep up the theme of giving thanks, as my blog posts this week seem to feature Etsy sellers who have either helped me out immensely when I first began selling in July with advice, commiseration, bought or sold items with me, and of course been chat buddies. Crafterall is no exception this week. She has been a great sounding board to help perfect my shop in little ways as I learn what end is up around here. I'm sure you're familiar with her work. She is on the front page almost every couple of weeks it seems. I've lost count how many treasuries her work must be in. Her work is amazing though, as evidenced by the (only!) 3 items I put here.

Athenianaire

Ever wish you could catch a butterfly? Athenianaire does, and what wonderful art she creates with them. She explains it better than I could, saying:

"I use real butterfly wings and butterflies to create these pieces and make a 5% donation to conservation international from every sale. The butterflies used to create these pieces are bred on farms all over the world. The specimens are exported in a preserved manner to generate some of the financial resources required to maintain and protect conserved land. Not all of the butterflies bred on these farms are sold as specimens. Many are released into the wild to mate and maintain healthy species populations. While the perfect specimens are used to create whole specimen artwork, there are many specimens that are imperfect or damaged, these damaged specimens I purchase to create the winged art for conservation."

You'll find boxes, collage and even ornaments in her shop. If you read her profile you'll learn she is well versed in many scientific subjects and her passion for nature and especially insects shines through.

Below are 3 of my favorite boxes from her shop:

Treasury Time!

Yay, Treasury!

Thanks to Our Side of the Mountain Crafts!

Bethtastic

Bethtastic is fantastic. If you spend any amount of time in Etsy chat you'll find her in one of the rooms. She makes jewelry out of resin, photographic images and beads and turns each piece into a one-of-a-kind statement. I've done business with her and I can vouch for her friendliness as a fellow Etsy seller. :) Her inventory keeps changing (by being bought!), so here's a small sampling of what is currently in store:

Good Dog Art

I can personally attest to the artistic talent of Good Dog Art. Good Dog Art is the brainchild of Megan Merz. We were roommates in school together and she whips out insanely talented drawings of...anything. People, fantasy imagery, animals. You name it, she'll do it, and do it well. I encouraged her to set up shop on Etsy and she has prints, oracle decks and wristlets for sale. I featured a little of each so you can see how versatile she is. She is open to commission work and I encourage anyone interested to take her up on it. The results are even prettier in person.

Animal Oracle Decks - she did 4 images in the deck. More info on her site.

Take A Moment...

And share your voice to save the handmade toys movement:

Save Handmade Toys

It only takes a minute of your time and would help a huge portion of the Etsy community. I don't want to see my friends go out of business and I'm sure you don't either. Let your voice be heard!

Modern Classics Kids

One word sums up Modern Classics Kids: cute!

No wait: adorable!

Hold on: beautifully practical!

Ok, that was a couple words but I'm sure you can come up with many more when you poke around her shop. Filled with charming book plates, prints of wildlife, invitations, stationery and calendars, you'll find something for any mom or child on your holiday list. Maybe even buy something for yourself? Any young or young-at-heart reader would appreciate the stylish bookplates in store. Check these out:

New items in my shop!

I've added new items to my shop: dishcloths, scarflettes and scarves! I've been working on custom orders this past week but I hope to have more stuff up soon!

Orno

What's not to love about Orno? The main focus of her shop is exotic wood earrings, although there are a few necklace offerings. Everything in shop is beautiful and simplistic, letting the natural beauty of the wood shine through. Orno is the brainchild of Carla Smiley, who creates this jewelry on the side of her architectural day job. Let's look at some of these lovelies:

Small Pointy Purpleheart Earrings

Yellow Turquoise Necklace

Helvetica Neue

I love the dreamy quality of Helvetica Neue's shop. Her work combines intriguing photographic subjects, collage, color treatments and imaginative composition to make images that are unlike anything else on Etsy. Many of her images make me start daydreaming in a good way. Let's look at some of these prints:

Madrin Photography

Madrin Photography is today's feature, all the way from the great state of Indiana (neighbor to the not-so-great state of Illinois at the moment). Her shop is filled with beautiful photography, more than I could ever feature here, so just take my word for it when I say it was a real challenge only to pick 3! Her work was even featured on TV which is quite an honor! So hop on over and look at all that I couldn't put here. You won't be disappointed.

Meridian Studio

What better post to mark the halfway point of the week than the aptly named Meridian Studio. It is chock full with the loveliest handmade silver jewelry I've seen yet on Etsy. There's also beaded things too, a lot of which I've put up on this post. There are so many nice things that it is impossible to just pick 3. I've had the pleasure of chatting with her in Etsy Chat and she is really friendly. If you ever need custom orders or a little piece of shine visit her shop. :)

Synaptic Glitch

I have two words to describe Synaptic Glitch's shop.

Totally Amazing!

And another two words for good measure:

Self Taught!

Yes friends, herein lies the magic of his paintings. Not only is he self taught but the end result is mind blowing. Check out what else he has in shop and bask in the awesomeness.
